Our team of Jim Brackett (skip), Brenda Taylor (vice), Marcel Meyer (second) and Anita Quenneville (lead) represented District 33A , Chatham Kent, in the mixed curling event in Orillia from February 6 – 8, 2024. We competed against 15 teams form across Ontario. Our team played in the Bronze medal game taking it to an extra end. However, the opposing team having last rock in that extra end made a raise to win by 2 inches.
In Orillia, we had wonderful accommodations, curled in a new 6 sheet curling facility and were entertained by a jazz trio and jazz dance ensemble at the opening ceremonies on Tuesday Feb. 6th. The lieutenant governor of Ontario was also there to officiate at the games.
